What is lacking in the story-rich, talented disabled community is confidence and opportunity. Teachers of play-writing such as myself can form or demand creating writing classes that include persons with disabilities. Personally, I abhor any kind of segregation. All communities have something important to offer each other. Being welcomed, developing confidence, developing skills, and most of all opportunity is all the disabled community need to be able to fly.
