Traditional Art in Oil and water coloring and Online Art Program

The problem getting a degree in art is the cost of get a bachelors in art, The materials cost are prohibitive because quality materials are expensive and costly because the cheaper material tends to be me more wasteful when you use it For Graphics and CAD programs the equipment runs $2000 alone and the software is another $2000 so it is not exactly cheap if you want the premium programs. Oils, water colors, acrylics ...more »

Resources and Training for HR Professionals/Recruiters

Does anyone know of resources/training specifically targeted for HR professionals and recruiters to include people with disabilities for employment in their cultural institution? This might be resources that were not intended for the cultural workforce, but could be adapted. Also, in addition to general audience vehicles, are there any great vehicles to specifically advertise positions for the community of people with ...more »

Folk Dancing on stage led by a guide

As a visually impaired person, I love to dance especially Israeli folk dancing.. Need someone who knows the steps and can guide a person like me as well. Most of the people who dance, cannot describe the steps while dancing. They also use the wrong language. Rather than use the name of the step, they say one, two three.

Role of Technology in Accessibility

Technology has provided a new way for accessibility to be a priority for employees and employers. Are there specific apps or programs that are important for employers to be familiar with in order to ensure disabled employees feel welcomed, comfortable, and successful? For example, what programs exist to facilitate virtual workspaces which make work environments more accessible?

Opportunities available for Artists with disablities

Dialogue implies 2 way communication. I have an idea, how about getting this information out into the community? This site is too wordy and confusing too. Leaderboard points? WTF? Looks like the usual Government funding using the funds to pay for a study that does little to benefit disabled Artists.

Online Searchable Disability Resources Database by Region

For NADC to create an online searchable disability resources database perhaps by geographical region. For example, as part of a proposed theater project involving high school, college, and possibly home-schooled students, I’d like to know all of the schools and programs that service students with special needs and disabilities in the San Francisco Bay Area. I would find such a database very helpful.

GrantsNetworkingPostEducation

I would like to see more support for artists to continue once they've graduated. It would be extremely helpful to have a "one stop shop" for displaying work, applying for competitions/grants and networking to enable those individuals who graduated from art college to develop into a successful artist post graduation. On a personal note, after graduate school, it was extremely difficult to continue working in the arts and ...more »

Students w/disabilities low participation in school Arts program

Observation, as it relates to students with disabilities and their "participation" in school arts programs. Their participation is low or non-existent because school arts programs are student selected and band/chorus/dance/theatre/etc teachers do not recruit for student participants. Many students with disabilities do not sign up to participate in school arts programs. One understandable reason is low self-esteem/confidence. ...more »
